Porta Pellis Straw Pellets
Absorption is good, but urine odor is present. 60 liters of palettes for three guinea pigs lasted three months. I am going to test another product
Excellent litter for Ferrets
I have 3 ferrets in a large walk in enclosure and this litter is amazing and perfect, I have a large hutch in the enclosure for shelter and sleeping quarters and I line everything with this portar pellis straw litter. I prefer it over the wooden cat litter as it is so much more better for asorbtion and lasts much longer.
Would give more stars if possible. Excellent stuff!
Brilliant for litter box
The pellets are wider and shorter than wooden ones, they are great for my bunny and I think more comfortable for her legs. It absorbed liquids and smells really well and it's a brilliant price for the amount you get.
Perfect for ferret litter
Have tried several types of litters for my ferrets but found this to be excellent. Contrary to popular belief ferrets do not smell if cared for properly, but using this as their litter it makes their room smell so naturally fresh. Most importantly, they love it. I also find that it lasts far longer than others tried.

Great for Bunnies
I use this for my Rabbits litter trays , it is very good value for the size of bag .. and you only need a little amount . been using this for a few years now and would be hard to find anything equally as good ..

Great for ferret litter boxes
I was looking for a safe absorbent litter suitable for my ferrets but that was less messy than wood pellets and absorbed the smell better than paper pellets. I have 19 ferrets in my care so go through a lot of litter. This bag is great value for money for me and is living up to my expectations so far and I'm only halfway through the bag.

Luxuriously Soft but too powdery
I have a house Rabbit and 2 cats so I take great care when choosing products to use, esp for litter.
I recently thought about changing the litter I use and so got a few different types to test.
This litter is for my rabbits hutch (sometimes used by the cats when the rabbits roaming the house).
When I opened the bag the first thing I noticed was a sweet smell. When I picked up a handful of litter to put in the hutch it felt so soft. I almost wanted to curl up in it. The pellets are also nicely sized so I knew that they wouldn't hurt my baby or cause any issues should he ate them. The problem is the pellets were so soft they would turn to powder very easily. When I got to about halfway down the pack my rabbit actually started to sneeze when he jumped in or dug up the litter (didn't stop him from digging it up and kicking it all out the hutch though, naughty boy!). The deeper I got into the bag the more powder I found I actually weighed the powder in the bag once I finished it and there was a good 700g of it, which is far too much in my opinion. As expected the pellets disintegrated when they got wet but what I didn't expect was the powder at the bottom became a mush and some of it stuck to the bottom of the tray making a very thin 2nd layer. Such a shame as I really like the feel and the smell.
Apart from that the absorbancy was on par with what i normally use (Cats Best Universal) and if they sort out the powder issue then I would seriously consider switching.

Excellent for chickens too
I have tried a host of bedding for both my chickens and my Guinea pigs. This stuff is excellent for both.
I reckon 1 dustpan full will fully expand to fill a carrier bag, so you dont need to use too much. It keeps odours down great and smells fresh and clean. Little or no dust and once expanded and will dry out again. My chickens love to dust bath in it !!!
I wont use anything else now.

best litter for bunnies
I have used these straw pellets for years, by far the best litter available. Very absorbent and it's a 100% natural product, no chance of any harm to bunny, no dust, no fumes. I pick up droppings and wet litter twice a day, add new litter as necessary and wash trays once a week. Works perfectly.

too heavy!
These pellets make really good litter for our guinea pigs, but the bag is so heavy I can barely move it. I won't be ordering it again for that reason.
really good
I've tried this litter for my 2 g.pigs. I use newspaper on bottom, this litter and hay on top of it. my boys don't do litter trays so it's good for messier piggies as well :) i tried other from a pet shop and the bag didn't last long and was more expensive. however it is true it's not the softest and it's a bit noisy. that's why i use hay on top of it :)

Excellent for rabbit trays
We use this in our rabbit litter tray (2 rabbits). It absorbs wee's really well and keeps the smell down. Goes a lot further than the carefresh we were using before (and cheaper!). The hard poops tend to stay on top and I remove these daily, but the straw pellets keep on absorbing for a few days without the need to change the whole tray. Will definitely be buying this again.

very good price and quality
I use straw pellets for my tortoises substrate and some have a horrible smell to them but these pellets dont which is very good. Also they are very absorbant and you get a huge bag for a great price and would reccomend these came 2 days from ordering so very fast delivery.

These are excellent
I have tried several types of bedding for our piggies, including carefresh, fleece, straw and sawdust and these are easily the best in terms of ease of use, cage tidiness and odor control. The only down side is that they are a bit noisy when you first put them in!

very good
I use it as a part of bedding for our guinea pigs. I was surpised by their absorbency. Great. Smaller bags would be more usefull for us.
Great Guinea Pig Bedding
I have to agree completely with the first reviewer of this product. We use mainly fleece bedding for our Guinea pig but need something other than sawdust for the toiletting area. These pellets absorb everything and we have not had the ammonia smell which we got with the sawdust. Lets hope these are still in stock next time I run out!

Porta Pellis (Amazing)
I have tried all types of bedding for my two Guinea Pigs and have struggled with the amonia smell after just 2 days. These pellets are fantastic! You get no odour from them at all until around one and a half weeks. You need to clean out the messy corners of course, but i can guarantee you wont be disappointed. When they uninate onto the pellets they expand and then dry to a soft dusty substance that is easily swept away with a dustpan and brush. My girls are kept indoors so no nasty smells now! Amazing!!!
