a science-based urinary s/o formula for your cat
Indications:
  • Dissolution of struvite uroliths
  • Prophylactic treatment/prevention of calcium oxalate stones
  • Prophylactic treatment/ prevention of struvite stones
Contraindications:

  • Chronic renal failure, metabolic acidosis
  • Heart failure
  • Hypertension
  • Parallel use of urine acidifying medication
Key benefits:
  • Struvite dissolution: URINARY S/O helps to dissolve all types of struvite stones.
  • Urine dilution: Diluting the urine makes it less liable to form struvite and calcium oxalate stones.

Changing your pet's diet and length of treatment:
Your pet will need to stay on this diet for 5 to 12 weeks, or until the stones are dissolved. It is advisable to feed this diet for a further 6 months to prevent a recurrence.

Has made my Cat hungrier!!
Great quality food and after Bladder Stone Surgery my Cat is very well BUT it has completely increased his appetite, beyond a Joke! His last food, he liked very much but had a reasonable intake from a small bowl he shares with sister. he would go long stretches without eatingl. I would measure the overall amount for the day etc and they are free to graze then. But this Royal Canin one has created a Monster!! Huge INCREASED Appetite. Asks for more? Will have to change!!

Gives my cats gastro-intestinal problems
We switched to this food just to have a little break from Hill’s C/D. Stupidly enough, I bought 9kg bag which doesn’t come with zip to seal or any kind of handle to help carry it. I have two cats and they eat the same food. Since giving them this, I noticed one of them vomits every day and the other one has horrible diarrhoea. I guess it is from acidity of the food itself or intolerrance to some ingredients in it. Now I’m stuck with 9 kg of food that gives my cats problems. Wouldn’t recomend.

Great food - average packaging
Ever since my cats have had urinary issues she has had this food and I only have good things to say. They liked it straight away and enjoy eating it. The only thing I could moan about is the lack of zip on the 9kg bag - there is no way to close it. You have to either leave the bag open or move the entire contents of the bag into sealable containers. Would be great if someone had a look at that!

It helps. But that's it
Since eating this food our cat hasn't had any more urinary issues. But that's all the good I can say about this food. You can't reseal the bag, which is especially annoying for the 9kg bag. I always have to empty the bag into resealable containers myself. Even the cheap dog food from Aldi comes in resealable bags and at this price it's a must. First ingredient is rice, not meat, which I don't think is good enough either.

No more crystals.
Our 8 year old boy had struvite crystals in his urine. Our vet advised using this for 6 weeks. Smokey really liked these biscuits relief as most cat owners know cats can be a nightmare with vet diets. 6 weeks later his urine retested and he's been given the all clear. Highly recommend.

Loki loves it and I do too
As a veterinary nurse, I understand the importance of feeding a good quality diet whilst managing potentially serious medical conditions. When Loki was diagnosed with stress induced cystitis from moving house, I immediately had his urine tested and it was revealed he also had struvite crystals. I changed him over on to this food and touch wood he hasn't had any problems since. He loves the food and I'm happy as long as he's healthy. Happy owner, happy cat.

He liked it.
My cat's struvite crystals increased on this, after having the wet variant for weeks. We realised he wasn't drinking enough, having got used to the high water content of the wet food. He liked the taste and ate it all happily, so after 12 weeks of the high dilution S/O variant I am confident that he will do better on this when we try again, and will then be on it for life. Royal Canin have been very helpful and would recommend this food for struvite crystal dissolution.

Effective treatment for urinary issues
Our male cat first started with this product in the Middle East after developing crystals that made it difficult to pass urine. Since starting it the problem appears to have been resolved and now back in the UK he is back to his mischievous self.

No more cystitis
My young cat had a severe bout of cystitis a while ago and was passing blood and in pain. It took two different lots of antibiotics to work for him and the vet put him onto the Royal Canin Vet Diet - Urinary S/O LP 34 dry food. He has never had a recurrence of cystitis since and his mum also has this food. They love it. I buy from Zooplus, as it is so much cheaper than buying from the vet. Good customer service too.

The best food!
Our Persian cat had some problems with urinary crystals a few years ago and the vet recommended us this food. We haven't had any more problems since we started using it and our cat likes it more than some of the fattier foods he's had before.

BRILLIANT FOOD
Tom Cats are known to have bladder issues when defending their teritory. My Tom cat was defending his sister to a full Tom cat and I had to take him to the vets for Cystitus three times. On the forth time he was attacked that bad that his bladder blocked and it was thankful that we had a litter tray and he show me that no urine was passing. He survived and the vet recommended this product, a year later and all Three of my cats are eating this and it is amazing stuff. They are health, content, coats are shiny and they are more loving too. It also saves me on buying and wasting too much wet food. I still feed them wet food as they like it. This is brilliant thank you
