The label attached to the product states that the scratcher is suitable for kittens of over 5 months of age. My 8 week old kittens were able to topple it easily, with the older cats it only took a swipe of a paw to send it flying. The idea is great, the teaser ball is attached to a rotary arm, and the holes in the base with hidden toys are very attractive to kittens, but the execution of the idea is not so great, the scratcher lacks stability.

good for kittens but not too stable

quite light so cat may outgrow it quickly. But for that price probably for start. No funny smells looks good, and the balls hidden in the base are super.
